Their exact coat, not a generic one
A pet is recognized by its coat: the patch over the eye, the white bib, the socks, the chest pattern. The app checks these markings one by one against your photos — muzzle, ears, eye color, coat patterns — with criteria made for animals, not recycled human ones.

Yes — it's an explicit criterion: the pattern and position of markings are checked against your photos, along with muzzle shape, ears and eye color.
